Theatre Works Needs A Lift

After over a decade of safely hoisting our artists and techies to the rafters of Theatre Works, its time to retire our elevated work platform. The lifter we used for rigging and ensuring the safety of our crews is ready to call it a day - leaving a vacant position for a new and improved model.

But this is a position we can't fill on our own.

Your recent support has enabled us to facilitate some significant results onstage, which includes hosting 2017’s resident companies including The Rabble, Adena Jacobs/Fraught Outfit, Rawcus and outstanding director/playwright collaborations between our John Sheedy and Ross Mueller as well as Susie Dee and Patricia Cornelius.

None of this would have been possible without you - and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continuing support.

Offstage, we strive to provide the best support for the best independent artists Melbourne has to offer. Not only through our career development opportunities such as Directors Lab: Melbourne but through our technical management, ensuring every show has the support they deserve in the theatre itself.

Making a donation to Theatre Works today will ensure that we will be able to maintain our attention to detail and stringent quality control in the theatre through the purchase of a new lifter - helping us rise to the occasion for 2018's bold new program.

Donations of any size can make a huge difference. Thank you for being a part of the Theatre Works community, and for supporting brave independent theatre.

Looking forward to seeing you in our foyer again soon,

Dianne Toulson - General Manager
Rosalind Willet - Chair
