From Crisis to Hope, From House to Home, help our vulnerable

A bike for a child who had, with their mum, fled domestic violence…

A study desk for a 10 year old child from a family of Tamil refugees living in Western Sydney …

A fridge for a mum who experienced domestic violence and a traumatic house fire …

A washing machine, a chest of drawers and a bedside table for a mother and child who are domestic abuse survivors living in the Inner West…

These are just some examples of the small ways the Bower’s ‘From House to Home’ program has had big impacts on the lives of families transitioning out of crisis.

Please make a tax deductible donation to help ensure a safe, comfortable home for a family with emergency needs in 2024.

Since the inception of our ‘From House to Home’ program in 2016, we have furnished homes for refugees and asylum seekers, survivors of domestic violence, those who have been homeless and others in most dire need in our community.

We do this, responding to individual needs, by facilitating the re-homing of household goods, furniture and appliances from those who no longer need those items to those who desperately do … helping to turn a basic ‘house’ into a genuine ‘home’.

With the cost of living crisis biting hard, ‘from house to home’ is needed more than ever…  please donate today

The Bower works in partnership with humanitarian service organisations directly assisting and providing accommodation to families in crisis.

Caseworkers from these services refer asylum seekers, survivors of domestic violence and others in need to the Bower to select at no cost the items that suit their individual needs and preferences.

The Bower then sources, collects and delivers those items to individuals and families in need.

Over the last 7 years, thanks to the generosity of many in the community such as yourself. the Bower has been able to help many hundreds of individuals and families make their houses functional, safe and comfortable.

This simple service helps children to go to school and parent/s to be able to apply for jobs and seek employment.

In short, ‘From House to Home’ allows people who have come from very difficult circumstances, to give them the stability and security to move on with their lives.

Bower Reuse & Repair Centres is an environmental charity dedicated to championing re-use and repair and living sustainably, while supporting those in our community most in need.

Please make a tax deductible donation to help ensure a safe, comfortable home for a family transitioning from crisis.
