As an island nation, we all rely on seafarers. But seafarers also rely on us. No matter what problem a seafarer is facing, they know they can turn to MTS for a friendly welcome, help, advice and practical support.

The services and facilities provided by MTS Sydney include:  

  • Free return transport between Port Botany and the MTS centre in Millers Point, Sydney, 4 times a day.
    $10 will provide return transport for a seafarer
  • Help with emergencies including medical, personal, or work related e.g. exploitation.
  • Free communication facilities including email, Internet and Skype - all vital links to home for isolated, lonely seafarers.
    $15 will provide communication facilities for a day
  • Visitation on vessels, by our chaplains, of crew unable to enjoy shore leave.
    $100 will fund ship visiting for a day
  • Sim, recharge and phone cards.
  • Currency exchange and money transfers.
  • A shop stocked with relevant items, free tea and coffee.
  • Freeview and Apple TV with news programs broadcast in their own language.
  • Table games e.g. table tennis, snooker, table soccer.

    $400 will keep the mission centre open for a day to allow seafarers to enjoy all the above facilities

    $80,000 will provide a new 14 seater bus

Give today so that The Mission to Seafarers, Sydney can continue to care for seafarers, repairing some of their stress, weariness and isolation, the benefits of which are felt by the seafarers as well as their families and loved ones.
