One in three Western Australians are affected by disability.* This includes people living with a disability and those caring for people with disabilities. Most people with disabilities experience some form of limitation or restriction due to their disability. Sadly, this can often go hand in hand with feelings of isolation and exclusion, as they find it more difficult to participate in the community and everyday life.
In many cases specialised equipment, activities, resources and other supports can help people with disabilities realise their potential and increase their ability to participate. Though as valuable as these supports are, many items are ineligible for Government funding and are too expensive for families to purchase themselves.
Our Grant for Inclusion, Value and Equality (GIVE) program provides funding assistance to support independence, participation and social inclusion of people with disabilities and their families.
The program aims to assist with the purchase of items such as equipment, communication devices, sporting and recreational activities, home and garden modifications, accessible transport, respite, memberships and much more.
Every dollar raised goes directly to supporting people with disability.
Often it's that little bit of extra support that can make a difference in someone's life.
