In February 2026, a fire tore through the dormitories at Thika Children’s Rescue Centre, destroying everything the boys owned. Beds, mattresses, clothing, school materials, any personal items they had — all gone in minutes. The seventy boys residing there are currently sleeping in a converted classroom on-site and urgently need support to replace their basic necessities and begin rebuilding their lives.
For many of them, this Centre is the only stable place they have ever known. All of the boys in our Friends Vision program grew up here, and several still live at the Centre while completing their studies. This loss has been devastating.
Friends Vision is running this fundraiser to support the Rescue Centre in restoring safety, comfort, and dignity for the boys.
