Coal Point Progress Association Inc

Toronto Foreshore Protection Group

The Coal Point Progress Association is a registered charity and is supporting the Toronto Foreshore Protection Group (TFPG) by assisting with fundraising and collecting donations with its charitable status.

The TFPG is an informal alliance of a number of Toronto community groups.

Lake Macquarie City Council is planning to spend up to $1million of ratepayer money preparing a Development Application to build a major development on the Toronto foreshore at Bath Street.
The proposal is for 4 to 6 levels of tourist and residential units, along with commercial enterprises on land opposite the Royal Motor Yacht Club.
Major development applications have already been lodged at both ends of the Toronto Foreshore Park, a 5-6 level complex adjacent to McDonald’s and 3-4 storeys at Hirecraft marina.

We can’t afford to lose our public foreshore

We need to take action if Council’s plans are to be stopped.

We need funds to print and distribute flyers so the local community knows what's going on.

We aim to have public meetings and will need to hire venues to gather in.

We need funds to advertise in the major newspapers to get the message out to the broader Lake Macquarie community that multi storey development directly on the foreshore is a dangerous precedent.
