Named to recognise Bendigo’s world-class theatre, The Ulumbarra Foundation is the only charity in Central Victoria devoted to the performing arts. Our activities support the development of performing arts in Bendigo’s unique venues, as well as performing arts organisations, artists and the wider regional community through inspirational programs and funding initiatives.

Our generous donors are already helping The Ulumbarra Foundation make a difference in our community.

In memory of her late husband Alan, Helen Gobbe has funded cushion concerts for toddlers and their carers. The Hon. Howard Nathan’s generosity allowed hundreds of regional primary schoolers to experience theatre for the first time. A bequest from the Ryall family supported a part time education officer to bring visiting professionals together with young musicians. And fifty visionary benefactors provided the seed funding to kick start the Foundation’s gift fund.

While we are young – less than three years old – the Ulumbarra Foundation has been embraced by our local community. We are ambitious in our aim to bring the joy of professional music, theatre and dance to those who may not otherwise be able to experience it. These new audiences include young people, those disadvantaged by economy or distance, refugees and our local indigenous communities.
