About this cause

The Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) South Barwon Unit needs your support to upgrade two of our Unit funded 4WD vehicles. With a cost of approximately $125,000 each, it is the volunteers responsibilty to raise the funds for their replacement by way of donation collection and writing grant applications.

These vehicles are regularly used for emergency reponse operations such as -

  • Land Based Swift Water Rescue
  • Road Crash Rescue
  • Assisting Ambulance Victoria with patient carry outs
  • Assisting Victoria Police with searches
  • The towing and transporting of additional equipment for emergencies

VICSES is the control agency for Storm, Flood, Tsunami, Earthquake & Landslide emergencies. We also assist other emergency services and are a primary rescue provider for the community, particularly for road accident rescue where there are trapped casualties. The South Barwon Unit is 100% volunteer run and services Grovedale, Waurn Ponds, Belmont, Highton, Armstrong Creek, Mt Duneed and Barwon Heads.
