About this cause

Villa Alba Museum's external windows & doors need restoration!

Villa Alba Museum is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register. It provides a window into the world of Marvellous Melbourne, with its ornately decorated walls and ceilings telling us much about the design, culture and society of late 19th century Melbourne.

Now Villa Alba's external windows and doors, as well as the gutters, eaves and fascias and downpipes, require urgent attention to ensure their preservation.

Restoration and painting must be done to exacting heritage standards. While proceeds from monthly open days and event hire fund ongoing maintenance, this cannot meet the costs of this major work.

Your contribution goes towards the $90,000 required to restore and repaint Villa Alba’s 41 windows, 6 doors, gutters, eaves and fascias.

The Glendonbrook Foundation has generously offered to match donations on a dollar-for-dollar basis up to $50,000, so your donation will be doubled!

THANK YOU!!
