Women's and Girls' Emergency Centre - Financial Support

WAGEC offers creative and flexible options for women and families, and transgender people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness. The people we work with often have little or no family or community support. They come from a variety of cultural backgrounds and have been impacted by issues such as domestic and family violence; sexual assault; drug and alcohol misuse; and mental illness.

WAGEC works with four specialist partners to assist women, families and transgender people in need by providing crisis & transitional accommodation; brokerage services; case management & referral services; and outreach support services. Thanks to our personalised support and strong partnerships, we assisted 1625 women and children in the 2017/18 financial year.

We rely on generous donations to support our services, and provide women and their families with the support they need.

Donations go towards increasing the capacity of our support services, as well as therapy and lifestyle classes, specialised skills courses, tutoring for children, refurbishment of communal areas in crisis accommodation for client comfort and security, and purchase of critical equipment for clients, such as secure phones, common-use PCs and educational laptops for children.

We would like to thank you sincerely for your generosity, which will help to achieve a safe future for women and families in our communities.
