About this cause

Wandiyali Restoration Trust is a not-for-profit special purpose Trust, and registered charity.  It is on the Australian Commonwealth Register of Environmental Organisations, giving it DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) status, meaning that donations can be tax deductible.

Wandiyali~Environa Wildlife Sanctuary is uniquely located within 30 minutes of Australia’s Commonwealth Parliament House, with panoramic views over the nation’s capital and Brindabella Ranges.

Wandiyali Restoration Trust aims to restore mammals to 400 hectares of Endangered Ecological Community (EEC) Box Gum Grassy Woodland and the associated serpentine gorges of Jerrabomberra Creek, one of the main tributaries to Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra.

Key threats to plants and animals will be mitigated, providing long term protection and ‘nurseries’, in which threatened species can thrive and from which, in time and with appropriate research, these plants and animals can be reintroduced into the broader landscape.
