WestPride Archives (2024) is the successor to the Gay and lesbian Archives of WA incorprated in 1998. We are non-profit organisation affiliated with the Australian Museums and Galleries Association (WA) and a partner of the National Library of Australia. Our collection conatains collections from individual donors and organisatuons and include paper records, books posters, photographs, costume and video and sound recordings. We have collected over 10,000 items and continue to collect today. Our work is undertaken by our enthusiastic trained volunteers, we have no paid staff.
In order to conserve the collection we purchase approved archival materials. We maintain the collection in a suitable and secure environment provided by Murdoch University with whom we have a renewable four year agreement.
Your donation will assist in operating the archives, ensuring we continue to collect and preserve the collection to the highest standards.
