When the lights go out, the world gets quiet.

But for many vulnerable children across South Australia, night-time can be the hardest part of the day. It’s when fear, uncertainty and trauma can feel the loudest. For children in crisis, escaping domestic violence, entering emergency care or experiencing homelessness, the simple comfort of feeling safe can be out of reach.

At Backpacks 4 SA Kids, we believe every child deserves compassion, comfort and the chance to experience joy, even during life’s most difficult moments.

This End of Financial Year, we’re asking our community to help us provide practical support for children who need it urgently.

Every day, we work alongside over 370 partner agencies across South Australia to deliver essential items to babies, children and young people facing crisis. Through simple acts of care, we help children feel supported, valued and less alone during uncertain times.

Your donation helps provide backpacks filled with essential items for children entering emergency care such as:

• Pyjamas and comfort items to help children feel safe at night
• Toiletries, clothing and everyday essentials for children arriving with very little
• School supplies and practical support that help children feel included and prepared
• Distraction items for comfort

Funds allow us to purchase urgently needed items when stock levels run low. Because when the lights go out, no child should feel forgotten.
