WINDAMERE HORSE HAVEN Association Inc is a horse rescue charity which was established in 2013.
Its aim is to help save abused, neglected and abandoned horses and to try and give them a second chance at life through rehabilitation and re-education in a caring environment, with a view to rehoming to a forever home.
As part of their rehabilitation and care, Windamere horses are provided with individualised supplementary feeding, and farrier, dental and routine vet care and also equine massage/bodywork as needed.
Once we have helped a horse recover to full health and it has undergone a retraining program with our horse trainer, we will try and find a suitable adoptive home. We attempt to match horse and prospective owners and offer ongoing support.
Windamere Horse Haven is mainly funded by donations or ongoing sponsorship which can be for as little as $10 per week. Individual donations/sponsorship as well as those from businesses are very much appreciated. Even having a donation box on a sales counter can help fund the horses in our care. Sponsors will receive a letter of introduction to Windamere as well as regular periodic newsletters.
