Every Journey Matters: Join Liz Stringer and Wombat to Tackle Australia’s Housing Crisis

Liz Stringer’s powerful To Survive tour is more than just a chance to share her latest emotive, piano-driven release. The 17-date national tour doubles as a campaign to spotlight Australia’s growing housing crisis and raise critical funds for those most in need.

Liz is proud to be linking up with Wombat Housing Support Services to help raise funds and awareness for people experiencing homelessness or housing stress in the Inner Western Subrubs of Melbourne.

For over 30 years, Wombat has been a lifeline in Melbourne’s west. When Jade, a young mum in Melbourne’s west, was at risk of losing her home, she needed more than advice—she needed someone to listen, stand by her side, and help her build a safer future. Wombat Housing Support Services was there with the practical support and advocacy she needed to get back on her feet. Your donation supports our Moments that Matter campaign:

Moments That Matter is about more than meeting basic needs—it’s about restoring dignity and joy. Your donation will help create experiences that change lives such as:

  • A child’s first swimming lesson
  • A family’s first zoo trip
  • Essentials that make a house feel like home
  • Food and vet care for a pet that has never left your side
  • A trip to musem
  • A child’s first school camp or excursion
  • Sharing a meal with your community
  • Receiving a care package with toiletries and essentials

These are just some of the moments that matter—the ones that bring hope and belonging. Things we might take for granted, they matter. Your donation makes them possible.

A message from Liz

" As an artist who's toured all corners of Australia for many years now, the growing wealth disparity and impact of the housing crisis in this country has never been more obvious to me.

Housing is a human right and yet, because of years of policy decisions and a lack of forward thinking, an increasing number of Australians are either already homeless or experiencing chronic housing insecurity. It's never sat right with me that a country as rich as Australia should allow a section of its constituents to live so precariously while others become more and more wealthy. I'm helping to facilitate my audience to support their communities in the hope that it further shines a bright light on the issues facing vulnerable Australians everywhere.

Homelessness and housing stress can impact anyone at any time and, I feel that I have a social responsibility to communities, who have been so good to me over the years, to provide support for those people where I can.

If you have the means to contribute, every donation is appreciated. There will be a chance to meet the people behind Wombat Housing Support Services at the show, and to talk about ways you can get involved or lend further support.
