Disaster Relief Fund

We maintain a disaster relief fund to assist organisations working on the frontlines of disasters, crises and emergencies. This enables us to support disaster relief efforts at short notice.

100% of donations go to selected causes. This will be advised on our website and in our monthly newsletter at the time those funds are distributed. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.

Below are some examples of emergency causes we have supported in the past.

Beirut blast
On 5 August 2020, a massive explosion ripped through Lebanon's capital city, Beirut. It claimed the lives of hundreds and devastated the city, leaving thousands homeless.

In the process, it also destroyed a grain silo that accounted for 85% of Lebanon's grain supply. It destroyed Beirut's port, disrupting food imports. Beirut relies on imports for 90% of its food. The situation is precarious, and urgent support is required to establish food security for the people of Lebanon.

COVID-19 Crisis
The coronavirus has had an immense global impact, but this impact has not been evenly spread. Funds raised for our Disaster Relief fund may be directed to organisations alleviating the worst affects of the virus on the world's most vulnerable communities.

Australian Bushfires
Images of the 2019-20 Australian bushfires shocked the world. Over 18 million hectares were burned, 10,000 buildings were destroyed, and more than one billion animals perished. 417 human lives were claimed.

To contribute to the efforts and support those impacted by this crisis, our Disaster Relief Fund made distributions to BlazeAid and the Taronga Conservation Society.
