Australian Lions Foundation Ambassador Sari-Elle Kraemer is on a mission - to not only climb 17,598 feet above sea level to Everest Base Camp but to then also run 42.195 kms crisscrossing the high Sherpa trails of Khumbu Valley!
Everest Marathon is the world's highest marathon and in training for the May 2024 event Sari-Elle will be raising funds and awareness for the incredible impact Lions volunteers have in their communities with the assistance of Australian Lions Foundation.
Sari-Elle is on a mission to raise $120,000 to help change more lives through Australian Lions Foundation's Compassionate Fund.
ALF's Compassionate Grants are provided to assist people or families in necessitous circumstances. This may be by the provision of medical aids, equipment or cash to provide relief from significant hardship.
Australian Lions Foundation's Compassionate Grant program for example is currently supporting young 10 year old Nicky Tadros and his father after Nicky broke almost every bone in his body and tragically lost his mother in the recent Seaworld Helicopter Crash on the Gold Coast.
A few years ago the Australian Lions Foundation's Compassionate Grant support also helped a young girl with a terminal illness travel with her family to the US for over 12 months of treatment. She is now living a normal teenage lifestyle back in Queensland.
