Help Me Support Children and Adults Living with Batten Disease
Hi, I’m Mark — husband, dad of three, and about to turn 50. To mark the milestone, I’m taking on the legendary Hong Kong “Four Trails”. I will be walking 300km solo with over 14,500m of elevation gain, winding through mountains and cityscapes alike starting on Friday 27th March.
I’m not doing this just for the challenge — I’m doing it for children living with Batten Disease, the most common form of childhood dementia. This rare and devastating condition causes progressive loss of vision, motor skills and cognitive function, and currently has no cure.
Batten Disease has deeply affected the family of a close friend, and I’ve seen firsthand the heartbreak and strength that comes with it. That’s why I’m raising funds for BDSRA Australia, who provide vital support to families and fund critical research.
Every donation, big or small, will help make a difference.
I would also be very grateful for you to share the link to this CrowdRaiser page to your friends and family. The more people who can help fundraise and raise awareness for Batten disease the better!
Thank you for your support — it truly means the world.
