RISE eX-detainees is the only eX-detainees refugee organisation in Australia that is fully run and governed by eX-detainees refugee survivors. Every day, more refugees and asylum seekers reach out to us for support through our casework, drop-in centre, food bank, and community service.

That’s the cost of giving up one coffee each month and putting that contribution towards projects and services led by eX-detainees refugees, for refugees and asylum seekers.

Many eX-detainee refugees and asylum seekers in our community are facing growing financial pressure and living below the poverty line. Some are unable to work, have limited access to social security, or are living without government or organisational support.  Increasing numbers are experiencing homelessness, with little or no assistance available.

RISE eX-detainees receives no federal or state government funding. We rely on the solidarity and support of our community to keep providing essential casework, food support, advocacy, and a safe place for refugees to access help.
