The Donor Development Circle is a community of passionate and visionary supporters who contributions start at $1,000 annually to empower the creation of new works at Restless Dance Theatre. Developing new contemporary dance pieces is a resource-intensive process, often requiring at least two stages of development before reaching full production.

Traditional funding sources can be limited for this crucial early work, which makes the support of the Circle indispensable.

By joining the Donor Development Circle—or the Under 40s Commissioning Circle—members play a vital role in enabling Restless to:

• Create and develop bold, original works,
• Support and mentor the next generation of inclusive dance artists, and 
• Present and tour innovative performances across Australia and internationally.

The development of the Donors Circles has significantly impacted the company and its dancers by enabling the creation of award-winning touring works that provide ongoing paid employment opportunities for Restless dancers.

• Seeing Through Darkness – Presented at the Art Gallery of South Australia 2020, and WOMADelaide 2025, and continues to be screened internationally.
• Exposed – Toured from Adelaide Festival Centre to the Sydney Opera House, Theatre Royal Hobart, and SIDance Festival Seoul.
• Shifting Perspectives – Premiered at Illuminate Adelaide and was presented as part of  Vivid Sydney, 2024
• Private View – Premiered at Adelaide Festival 2024 and toured to Brisbane Festival and Alter State, Melbourne through, and won the Ruby Award for Best New Work in a Festival.
