Membership Terms and Conditions


1. Who Can Be a Member?
Individuals only (not businesses or organisations).
You can join if: You apply and are approved, OR
You were part of the group that registered this association, OR
You were a member of a previous group that became this association.
 
2. How to Join
Complete the membership form or by email 
Send it to the Secretary.
The Committee will approve or reject your application.
If approved, pay the joining and annual fee within 28 days.
You become a member when your name is added to the register.
 
3. Membership Register
Includes your name, address, date joined, and date left.
Members can inspect it for free or request a copy for $1 per page.
You can ask to keep your address private.
The register is for association purposes only.
 
4. Fees
Annual fee: $5 (or as set by the committee).
Pay before the start of each financial year.
 
5. Responsibilities & Liabilities
Your liability is limited to unpaid fees.
Membership rights cannot be transferred and end when you leave.
 
6. Ending Membership
You can resign with 1 month’s written notice.
Membership ends if you:Resign
Are expelled
Fail to pay fees within 3 months
Pass away
 
7. Complaints & Discipline
Complaints about rule breaches or harmful conduct go to the committee.
The committee may dismiss, suspend, or expel a member after review.
You’ll receive written notice and have the right to appeal.
 
8. Appeals
Lodge an appeal within 7 days of notice.
A general meeting will decide by secret ballot (simple majority).
 
9. Disputes
Disputes go to a Community Justice Centre for mediation.
If unresolved in 3 months, they go to arbitration under the Commercial Arbitration Act.
