These Terms & Conditions apply to memberships purchased or registered through GiveNow or other approved channels for Geelong Rainbow Inc (“Geelong Rainbow”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

By joining as a member, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

 
1) Membership Overview
Geelong Rainbow offers tiered memberships, including a free access option, to support connection, inclusion and community activities.
Membership provides access to member communications and opportunities to engage with events and activities, subject to availability and capacity.
Membership is personal to the individual member and is not transferable.
 
2) Membership Tiers & Benefits
Membership tiers and prices are published on our GiveNow page (or website) and may include:Community Access Member (Free)
Community Member
Active Member
Sustaining / Champion Member
Pay‑it‑Forward / Solidarity Member
Benefits vary by tier and may include newsletters, event invitations, priority access, member‑only updates, and other benefits described at the time of joining.
We may adjust or retire benefits from time to time to reflect operational capacity, safety considerations, or accessibility needs. Where changes are material, we will communicate them to members.
 
3) Eligibility & Community Conduct
Membership is open to people who support Geelong Rainbow’s purpose and community values.
To help maintain safe and inclusive spaces, we expect members to:treat others with respect and care
follow the reasonable directions of event hosts/volunteers
not engage in harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or unsafe conduct
We may refuse, suspend, or terminate membership (including access to activities) where we reasonably believe a person’s behaviour creates a safety risk or is seriously inconsistent with our values.
 
4) Term, Renewals & Recurring Payments
Membership can be purchased monthly (recurring) or annually, as offered at the time of joining.
If you select a recurring membership, you authorise GiveNow (and its payment processors) to charge your selected payment method at the chosen frequency until cancelled.
Renewal dates are determined by the date you first join or renew.
You can cancel recurring payments at any time via the GiveNow portal (if available) or by contacting us at hello@geelongrainbow.org.au. Cancellation stops future charges; it does not automatically trigger refunds for past periods (see Section 6).
 
5) Free Tier (Community Access Member)
The Community Access Member (Free) tier exists to support inclusion and accessibility.
No proof of financial hardship is required.
Free membership may provide access to newsletters and event invitations; some benefits (if any) may be reserved for paid tiers.
Free membership is not intended for organisations or businesses and may be limited to individuals.
 
6) Fees, Refunds & Changes to Membership
Membership fees are published at the time of sign‑up.
Refunds: As a community organisation, Geelong Rainbow generally does not offer refunds for change of mind. However, we may provide a refund or credit in limited circumstances, such as:duplicate payment
payment made in error
exceptional compassionate circumstances (at our discretion)
If an event is cancelled or changed, that does not automatically entitle a member to a refund of membership fees. We may offer alternatives where feasible.
Upgrades/Downgrades: Members may change tiers by contacting us or updating via GiveNow (if enabled). Changes typically apply from the next billing period unless otherwise stated.
 
7) Events, Capacity & Accessibility
Some activities may have limited capacity, age restrictions, venue requirements, or accessibility constraints.
We may require RSVP or ticket registration (including $0 tickets) to manage capacity and safety.
We will make reasonable efforts to support accessibility and inclusion. Members can share access needs via the membership form or by contacting hello@geelongrainbow.org.au.
Geelong Rainbow may refuse entry or ask a person to leave an event if required for safety, wellbeing, or venue compliance.
 
8) Communications & Consent
By joining, you agree to receive membership‑related communications (e.g., welcome emails, renewal notices, key updates).
You can opt out of non‑essential communications (like newsletters) at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.
Note: opting out may affect your ability to receive event invitations and updates.
 
9) Privacy & Data Handling
We collect and use personal information to administer membership, communicate with you, and improve our services.
GiveNow and payment processors may also collect and process your information in accordance with their own privacy policies and terms.
Where demographic questions are asked (e.g., identity, accessibility needs), they are optional and used to support inclusion and reporting.
 
10) Liability & Assumption of Risk
Participation in community events and activities may involve ordinary risks associated with public gatherings and venues.
To the extent permitted by law, Geelong Rainbow is not liable for loss, damage, or injury arising from participation in events, except where caused by our negligence or unlawful conduct.
Members are responsible for their own belongings and personal safety.
 
11) Complaints & Disputes
We welcome feedback and aim to resolve concerns respectfully and promptly.
To lodge a complaint, contact hello@geelongrainbow.org.au with your name, membership tier, and a summary of the issue.
We will acknowledge complaints within 5 business days and aim to provide a response within 15 business days.
 
12) Changes to Terms & Conditions
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
Updated terms will be published on our GiveNow page and will apply from the date of publication (or a later date if specified).
Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to notify members.
 
13) Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
