Annual membership is $5 and a three year membership $15. The Irish National Association uses the funds to maintain the Irish Cultural centre at Level 1, 64 Devonshire Street, Surry Hills, and to actively promote and support Irish culture and interests through our support of activities at the Irish Cultural Centre and further afield.
The INA has also relies on membership to invest significantly in restoring and preserving the Irish monument in Waverley cemetery. The Irish Monument pays homage to the patriots and martyrs of the Uprisings of 1798 and 1916, and of the 1981 Hunger Strikes, and all who have dared and fought for Irish Unity during centuries of rebellion and defiance. INA members host a commemorative event every Easter Sunday afternoon, which usually features a keynote speaker and a reading of the 1916 Proclamation in Irish and then in English.
The Iirish Cultural Centre houses the Albert Dryer Memorial Library which contains a collection of historical books, many donated by the Irish Government, as well as contemporary Irish and Irish related fiction and non-fiction.
All financial members are entitled to vote at the Annual General meeting of the INA.
