Last financial year, we supported hundreds of eX-detainees across our projects and distributed over 20 tonnes of food supplies to people and families in our communities.
Help us raise $245,000 to strengthen eX-detainee refugee-led advocacy, emergency relief, housing support, employment and training programs, and community services across Australia.
RISE eX-detainees is a self-determined advocacy and welfare organisation entirely led and governed by eX-detainee refugees in Australia. Our projects and campaigns are designed, measured, and verified by eX-detainee refugees to elevate the lives of refugees in our communities.
In so-called Australia, the eX-detainee community remains one of the poorest, most racially profiled, and systematically discriminated-against groups. Many people in our community were detained and tortured under successive Australian government policies and have since been released into the community, where they continue to live below the poverty line.
Throughout the year, we run programs across Australia, mainly based in Victoria, including:
These programs are run largely through volunteer efforts, and we do not receive funding from the federal or state governments. To continue providing these services and supporting our communities, we need your ongoing support.
